Former Nigerian international captain Christian Chukwu will be honoured with the prestigious African Legend Award at the CAF Awards to be held in Lagos on February 10.
"The African Legend Award is not just recognition for the recipient and the past contributions.
"It is also to serve as motivation for those who are still active to know that their contributions today will also be recognised and rewarded in future," said CAF Communications Director, Suleiman Habuba.
Chukwu was the skipper when the Nigerians triumphed at the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil. He is also a former coach of the Kenyan and Nigerian national teams.
