Kanu Fires blank

A total of 13,517 spectators were in the stands at The Keepmoat Stadium, home ground of Championship side, Doncaster Rovers, on an evening Nigerian-born attacker, Gabriel Agbonlahor failed to hit target for Aston Villa.

Gabby was in full flight FA Cup action with The Villans, but could not make any difference, as his side settled for a goalless draw against Donnie and book a replay at Villa Park. Gabby was in action for the entire duration.

On the same evening, Dickson Etuhu saw 69 minutes of action in Fulham's 4-2 win away to Kettering Town at the A-Line Arena.

Etuhu had an average outing but his replacement, Danny Murphy proved more useful in getting results as he scored a goal just within 8 minutes of gracing the turf.

Elsewhere, 17,357 fans who thronged Fratton Park to watch Portsmouth take on lowly Swansea City, but many of them walked out in utter disappointment, as cup holders, Pompey crashed out after a 2-0 loss to The Swans.

Super Eagles' skipper, Nwankwo Kanu (Papilo) and his compatriot, John Chukwudi Utaka (The Attacker) were dressed for the game.

However, it was only Kanu who got playing time from the encounter, as he came off the bench in the 46th minute, with Pompey already 2-0 down.

Unlike last season, when Kanu’s goals virtually stole the cup for Portsmouth, the lanky star failed to reenact his magic touch and fired blanks on a sorry evening at home.
