Christian Obodo (Bundle of Skills) looks set for an immediate blast off this weekend at his new club, Espanyol of Spain, after opting out of his contract with Udinese of Italy, with a place in the squad looking good for the player tomorrow.
Despite keen interest from Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion of England and Atalanta of Italy, the former AC Perugia and Fiorentina midfielder has shipped out of the City of Udine for two million euros, which he aims to justify from the word go, as Espanyol visit Malaga.
The Super Eagles star Obodo, who only recently recovered after a long-standing injury, just in time to score in the UEFA Cup, is already in line for his Espanyol debut this weekend, as the Liga club seek to climb out of the relegation zone in Spain’s top flight.
The 24-year-old Obodo, who had been in Italy since 2001, will hope to use tomorrow’s match as a bright take off pad for his career with the struggling Espanyol
